Following Christmas Chill Out Volume One with the second in the series and such carols as Away in A Manger, O Come All Ye Faithful, and Carol of the Bells set to a slower, mellower mood, this album serves two purposes - as a traditional holiday album and as a piece of music designed to relax and engage the listener. Put together, it is difficult to imagine a mellower Christmas! The Yuletide All Stars, a group of classically trained session musicians from Philadelphia, originally started playing as soloists, duos and trios, with the occasional foray into a four member chamber arrangement. Word of mouth spread quickly, however, and pretty soon all of the members were gathering with regularity, forming themselves into a proper orchestra. Choosing to concentrate on seasonal music, their concerts are always well-received, and the musicianship demonstrated here is quite simply stunning. A must have for the holiday season, this album is all you will need for your holiday music.
