It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This December 13, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If I could give this recording more than 5 stars, I would; it's that good. In my opinion, the two albums recorded by Frederick Fennell and the Eastman-Rochester Pops Orchestra in the late 1950s constitute the finest interpretation of Anderson's work that I have ever heard. I first obtained the two albums on vinyl when I worked in a record store during my high school years, and Fennell made me a fan of Leroy Anderson for life. The technical quality of the recordings, which was state of the art in its day, has stood the test of time very well indeed.
