DON'T OVERLOOK THIS December 16, 2008 I don't know how many people aside from the ones here who will actually admit to liking this band but I raise my hand. I actually saw this band perform back in the day and they were very good. Some people were put off by Dale Bozzio's vocals but they didn't bother me one bit. This is some good, well crafted pop with an edge. Not only that but the musicians in this band are no slouches. Terry Bozzio is one of the most well respected and best drummers around. The little touches and quirky accents he adds to the songs are priceless. Let me tell you, I'll take this over a lot of the stuff that's being pumped out today. These guys can actually play their instruments and then some. Give it a go! www.electriceyes.us
memories September 27, 2008 I first heard Missing Persons on 91.1 WRVU in Nashville, Tennessee. It was the radio station for Vanderbilt University and the only place in town that you could here New Wave music in the early 80's. I went out and bought the EP cassette immediately. I also remember watching the movie "Lunch Wagon" which featured the group (someone else's review couldn't remember the title). Naked women and Missing Persons. Does it get any better? Singer Dale Bozzio was a former nude model anyway. Mental Hopscotch remains my favorite song.
I Like Pink Hair September 17, 2008 Up until now, I only listened to Missing Persons "hits" which included "Walkin In L.A" "It Ain't Nunya", "Words" and "Destination Unknown". I finally ventured into the "Unknown" and listened to some of their OTHER songs. I now love "Mental Hopscotch" and "Colour In Your Life". "i Like Boyz" is a cool song, and "No Secrets" is pretty funky too. What I love about Missing Persons is thier sound is so distinctive and captures that dark lurid 80's vibe. I picture rain soaked streets at night when there wasn't as many people around. Puddles glowing in neon refecting the street lights and electric signs from above. It's music for 80's tramps that roamed alone, like me. The mystery and the night.
Patrick O'hearn September 8, 2008 While I remember this band and their music, one of the smartest individuals from that band went on to make some of the best instrumental music I've ever heard...Patrick O'hearn went on to record some of the best and most enjoyable music for movies and although he doesn't tour I still listen to his music on a daily basis and if your not familiar with his music look it up and listen to some of the tracks and I can guarantee that you'll soon be buying up all his cd's,"yes" that's how good it is...
When will they release a DVD of their videos? June 24, 2008 I loved this group! The only song I wanted on the disc which was not was Surrender your Heart-which they had a video for which I remember vividly.
I wish I would have seen them live in their hey-days. I heard they may be in the Regeneration tour 2008 but not in my town.
Anyone know if they will be releasing a Best of Missing Persons DVD with videos and/or live performances?
I will be first in line to buy.
