Veronica Guerin: Audio CD October 9, 2008 Veronica Guerin - I saw the movie first... It was a riveting account of a true story. The artist, Harry Gregson-Williams, along with Sinead O'Connor, rendered a powerfully moving accompaniment to this movie.
I am a collector of movie soundtracks. My resources for the acquisition of soundtracks include the usage of many music libraries. Soundtracks in general are particularly difficult to acquire. If you don't look for them within the first few weeks of the actual movie release, chances are that you'll be unsuccessful at finding a selection at all. This is not so with Amazon Music. I can usually count on finding what I want at Amazon Music. This includes the accompanying artwork. Thank You Amazon
my first review August 29, 2008 Most often I don't write reviews but this sound track is so tender and special to us after seeing the movie of the same name that I decided to add my 2 cents. My husband who is new to singing and guiter playing has learned to play and sing it in the gaelic version. This took a lot of playing over and over and over and despite that I still love One More Day.
Ghostly October 7, 2007 As far as soundtracks to better-than-usual film "bio"-flicks go, this is a gem.
Mercurial. Ghostly. Haunting. Creepy. Brilliantly scored. Buy it if only for the two jaw-dropping Sinead O'Connor songs (really, doesn't this iconic woman make all sorts of projects SHINE brighter when she simply SINGS?), and the wrenching "capture" of the little street-singer urchin who should probably have mega-recording contracts by now, if they can find him.
A must-have for soundtrack collectors. It works on its own as a moody-day disc. If you've seen the film and listen to the soundtrack in retrospect, get-out the hankies. IDEAL.
visual and audio review August 29, 2007 the impact of the music is missed if you just listen to the soundtrack alone .
Great Soundtrack - Great Movie - Great Actress August 17, 2005 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
To echo the other reviewers on this page, Sinead O'Conner's rendition of "One More Day" is more than worth the price of this soundtrack. Pure and simple, it is one of the most eloquently beautiful songs I've ever heard. The all too brief Gaelic version which ends this film is so haunting that you'll find yourself totally spellbound by it and the imagery which goes with it. If a tear or two doesn't come to your eye, you, my friend, are not human.
While you're lurking about Amazon.com, don't forget to pick up the DVD of this incredible film. As long as Cate Blanchett walks the face of the earth, no one should ever plan on picking up a Best Actress Oscar. Why Ms. Blanchett did not win an Academy Award for this performance defies logic.
Suffice to say you will not feel cheated if you purchase both the soundtrack CD and the DVD of "Veronica Guerin". They've both been grossly underrated. If I could give them both 10 stars, I would. Amazingly good!
